Utah - November, 2008

A week after Obama won the 2008 election I packed a rental car and left West Hollywood for St. Cloud Minnesota. It was a strange time. I didn’t have a job, the Bush era had just ended and I had no idea if I was going to end up staying in Minnesota or head somewhere else, like New York.

I remember cruising through Utah and realizing how much fucking open land there is in the United States. I wanted to roam around Utah for a few weeks to take in the vastness of it all. But I knew that wasn’t an option so I had to settle for a few photographs and some daydreaming at 80 mph.
